Gamin’ Lizard

Who says you need thumbs to play video games? Check out this bearded dragon lizard pecking at virtual ants in a specially-designed video game. The little guy expresses some killer eye-tongue coordination, and plays with an enthusiasm that would make the most avid teenage gamer proud. No word on if the lizard is ever going to get around to cleaning his room.

Josh Keyes: Wilding the Future

In honor of National Wildlife Day we’re proud to feature the paintings of Josh Keyes.  These bleakly humorous scenes are influenced by the futurist ideas of Buckminster Fuller and deeply concerned with environmental issues. Any city dweller who has heard the banshee cry of a mountain lion driven to search our garbage heaps for food will see the near-future reality of Keyes’ City Limits where a young buck gently approaches a parking meter. Like a diorama at the Natural History Museum, it is as though we are seeing animals both as they will be and, not so far in the future, as they once were. Josh’s work will be featured in a solo show beginning October 22nd at the legendary Jonathan LeVine gallery.
