A More Sustainable Barbie
Toymaker Mattel Inc., producer of the beloved Barbie doll, has announced that it will stop using packaging from a Singapore-based firm accused of practicing unsustainable clear-cutting methods. The move comes largely as a result of a protest campaign launched by Greenpeace. Could an “Environmentalist Barbie” be right around the corner?

Beirut Goes Green
Beirut, Lebanon's central district has undergone a makeover thanks to the folks at Foster and Partners. Called "3beirut," the sustainable development pays special attention to the public realm and accessible green space, utilizing a staggered and rectilinear design that allows the buildings to blend into the surrounding urban fabric. Looks pretty cool, too.
